The famous HGF (Head Gasket Failiure) is a well known problem to many owners of cars equipped with the Rover K-Series engine.
Especially the Lotus Elise is suffering because the engine is installed in the back of the car, while the radiator is in the front.
When stopping the engine after a quick drive, itīs difficult getting the heat away. The water pressure rises and apllies stress to the whole cooling system and Head Gasket.
The Elise Pump Control takes care of that: it monitors the water temperature reported to the STACK display and controls a pump, which cools down the Engine.
